Sara Schnadt (US)
Sara Schnadt received a BA in Fine Art in 1992 from Mount Holyoke College, and an MFA in Performance Art in 1998 from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago (USA).
Schnadt explores technology in her work both as subject and media. Her installations and performances use found objects, interactivity, projection, spatial illusions, and movement derived from common gestures. Much of her work involves representations or data that translate large quantities of socially resonant information into poetic forms, including data visualization.
Solo projects include ‘Drafting Universes’ at Adjunct Positions, LA, (2013), 'Travelogue' at Torrance Art Museum, LA (2012), 'Travel Patterns' at Counterpath, Denver (2011), ‘Network, Domestic Intervention’ at What It Is, Oak Park, IL (2010), and ‘Connectivity’ at MCA Chicago (2007). Schnadt has participated in group exhibitions/presentations at Boston Cyberarts Gallery (2015), Perform Chinatown, LA (2013), MCA Chicago (2011), Gallery de Arte UNESP, Sao Paulo (2011), MOCAD Detroit (2010), The Busan Biennial (2008), and Site Unseen Performance Festival, Chicago (2006, 2007).
