Michael Aschauer graduated from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna in 2004.

Aschauer's works have been shown in numerous exhibitions and festivals around the globe in institutions such as the Bienal Internacional de Curitiba (2013), Fotohof, Salzburg (2013), and Freies Museum, Berlin (2012), Transmediale, Berlin (2009), Phoenix-Halle, Dortmund (2008). His recent solo shows took place at fotoK Galerie, Vienna (2014), and Phoenix Art Center, Leicester (2014).

Aschauer won the “award of distinction” at Prix Ars Electronica 2002 and “honorary mention” at Prix Ars Electronica 2006.

Michael Aschauer lives and works in Vienna.
